Successful implementation of any Literacy initiative points to the need for coaching to be a substantial part of your PD plan. Coaching can look very different in every district and the schools within them. This PL is designed for anyone who is currently serving as or interested in serving in any kind of coaching capacity in their school, including as a formal instructional coach, or leading a BLT, or TBT. We will talk about the many roles a coach may serve, understanding how adults learn, and for those already serving in a coaching capacity, how to continue to grow in your role while supporting teachers. One of the source texts that will be used is Student Focused Coaching by Daryl Michel and Jan Hasbrouck.
