Covering the largest service region in Ohio, Muskingum Valley Educational Service Center (MVESC) offers a wide range of professional services supporting our students, educational professionals and the community. We’re dedicated to providing high-quality, cost-effective services to the school districts and community partners in Coshocton, Hocking, Morgan, Muskingum, Noble, Perry and Tuscarawas counties. At MVESC, we provide services that support instruction, administration, personnel and finance. We also facilitate collaborative endeavors that support the implementation of federal and state regulations.

We work to always ensure that the students in our Muskingum Valley service region are offered the best educational options. We work collaboratively, alongside our community partners, to advocate and institute the necessary changes that support our children and our school districts.
Attendance Services
We work in cooperation with local service agencies, law enforcement and juvenile courts to support student achievement through attendance in Hocking, Morgan, Noble and Perry counties.
Before / Afterschool Programs
We offer expanded opportunities for positive youth development, including academic enrichment and wellness activities outside the traditional school day.
Data
We make data useful – accessing, organizing and integrating data for quality improvement. Our data services team extracts, cleans, compiles and packages data for use by school districts.
Fingerprinting & Backgrounds
The MVESC offers both state and federal background checks using the National Webcheck System.
Fiscal Services
We help drive transformation by strategically pooling resources, when possible, to support quality services and create greater operational efficiencies
Grant Services
We support initiatives that advance public education and support children and families. We have achieved a 67% success rate in awarded funds, securing more than $2.6 million in funding since 2018.
Parapro Testing
We assess, test and qualify instructional paraprofessionals. ParaPro Assessment measures knowledge and skills in math, reading and writing possessed by prospective and practicing paraprofessionals.
Preschool Services
We serve both children who are typically developing and children with an identified special need.
Special Education Services
We offer direct-service programs that are tailored to the needs of individual districts through cooperative programs and/or collaborative agreements.
Supervision and Hiring
We hire and supervise specialists and paraprofessionals for our school districts, so they don’t incur the extra burden or expense.
Workforce Development
The MVESC partners with organizations throughout the region to provide workforce development programming to benefit students in eastern and southern Ohio.
