We believe high-quality instruction starts with high-quality training and resources for our educators. The Muskingum Valley Educational Service Center’s (MVESC) Department of Curriculum and Learning promotes a holistic approach to education that includes a dedication to equity, well-rounded academics and key partnerships. We are committed to providing a comprehensive range of resources, including instructional best practices, professional development and technical assistance, to address the academic and behavioral needs of all students.

We provide comprehensive professional learning opportunities.

Our Center for Leading and Learning provides professional learning opportunities that are coordinated, led and facilitated by experienced professionals. We have a variety of academic areas to choose from. Some of these include:

  • Data Organization for Analysis
    Work with MVESC to organize state testing data in a special spreadsheet format, providing data and visuals for item analysis for districts and individual buildings. The goal is to work collaboratively with a district data lead to provide resources and tools needed to build a data-informed culture.
  • State-Required Training
    Attend state training for the Ohio Teacher Evaluation System 2.0, Ohio Principal Evaluation System, Ohio School Counselor System and Mentor Training for Ohio’s Resident Educator Program.
  • Personalized, District-Based Days
    Access MVESC consultants to create professional learning opportunities that align with the needs of your district, building or teacher teams. 
  • Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS)
    MVESC consultants help to train building-based lead teams in PBIS Tier 1-3 or coaching support for teams that have taken the training and are implementing.
