This week I spoke with Adam Copeland, the new Director of Operations for Muskingum Valley ESC. In this episode we spoke about his new role at the ESC and his path to this new endeavor. In addition, we talk about some misconceptions about educational service centers and what services we can bring to the table for member districts that we serve and also those beyond our service area. Thank you Adam for volunteering to be on this episode of our new MVESC podcast project.

Thank you Mr. Rinkes for volunteering to be the first episode of our new MVESC podcast project. Southeast Ohio’s Education Station will continue to highlight the ins and outs of daily rural school districts around southeast Ohio, however, we need your stories and insight to make it happen. Email me if you have a fun story or personal insight you want to share with other educators around our service area.

In episode 3 of “Teacher Feature” , we will talk with Madison Shackles, an Art Teacher at Franklin Local School District. Madison and I discuss the importance of art education, giftedness, and encouraging students to use art to express their experiences. Madison’s classroom is much more than crayons, Elmers Glue, and fingerpaints!

Episode 2 of “Teacher Feature” will showcase Maysville’s Brandon German. Brandon is a Maysville graduate who returned to his alma mater and now teaches STEM at the Junior High School. Brandon discusses the importance of building positive relationships with students and the impact that the students have on the teachers.

In this episode of “Teacher Feature“, we will talk with Heather Beall who is a 5th grade Science Teacher at Newcomerstown Exempted Village School District. Heather will discuss her biggest challenge, classroom philosophy, and how she remembers “why” she went into the field of education.
