MUSK-Moving Beyond Basics: A Closer Look at Sex, Labor, and Familial Trafficking in Your Communities and What You Can Do About It

This training is being presented by Eyes Up Appalachia and will provide an overview of human trafficking, prevalence studies of trafficking in Appalachian counties, familial trafficking, social media and grooming, warning signs of trafficking, labor trafficking overview, special immigrant juvenile trafficking, and safe harbor. In this training, attendees will identify the vulnerabilities that put a youth at a greater risk for being trafficked, explain the unique vulnerabilities that may be present in a familial trafficking situation, recite questions that might help identify a trafficking situation with youth, understand the differences between grooming on social media and sextortion, identify what labor trafficking could look like in youth, recognize labor trafficking in their communities, and feel comfortable advocating for Safe Harbor in their courts.
